What is a Voice Thread?

"A VoiceThread is an online media album that can hold essentially any type of media (images, documents and videos) and allows people to make comments in different ways and share them with anyone they wish:

using voice (with a microphone or telephone) Phone commenting

video (with a webcam)

You can also add "doodles" which basically means you can use your mouse to write on the image or video while you are commenting. Remember to click in the center before you draw or your markings will fade away.

Each VoiceThread can be shared with a specific group or the whole world. You can also collaborate with others and invite them to comment on your work. Remember to allow comments if you want others to comment on your work.

Adding Pictures/Videos to Voice Thread

You can upload pictures from the following media sources:

Your computer

You can have students draw a picture and then scan it
You can have students draw a picture in Kid Pix and then export it as a jpg.
You can have students take a picture with the digital camera or using PhotoBooth
You can also have students create a movie in Imovie and then upload the movie

You can use the webcam in Voice Thread or upload videos you already have on your computer.
